A lot of us travel a lot, and a lot of us forget a lot when we travel as well. Especially when you are rushing to get that Domestic Airline flight or avoid the traffic (especially if you are in Bangalore) to catch your train, most of us just stuff our bags and run. Invariably, that's not enough and suddenly you have an "Oh why didn't I think of bringing that.." moment. So here's a check list of must keep items that we think would be helpful for you before you take that next trip.

a) Make sure you carry medicines with a prescription - While Airlines are equipped with the basic medicines such as Crocin and others that you can take to relieve temporary pain, sometimes your medication might be required post meal. If you can take your doctor's prescription along with the medicines, then most airlines generally allow you to fly with it.

b) Carry cotton or baby plug ears - Let's face it, the kids are too small to handle the pressure on their ears. While you can teach them to swallow or suck on their finger which releases the air pressure it's really hard to get them to listen when they are crying. We recommend the ear plugs that fit in and work well for them.

c) Novels - Always handy to carry them with you to keep you entertained if you dont have a personal DVD system. A lot of airports ground staff distribute free newspapers as well, so make sure you grab a copy of it.

d) Food - A lot of domestic airlines offer in flight food that you can purchase, but they also allow you to carry your own meals as well. Carry the taste of home when you fly!

e) Your own towel - if you are staying in hotels or shared rooms, generally Soap and Towels (fresh ones) are things you must carry with you to help you wash your face. Those towels hung in the bathrooms might not be the highest on the sanitary rankings.

f) Camera at hand - Wouldn't you want to show people what it looks like at 30,000 feet and the cloud formations there?

Things you can't carry.
Please note that all airlines and especially the ground staff, just won't let you carry liquids or sharp items. That rules out everything from shampoos, gels, perfumes, colognes to swiss army knives and razors as well. You can however carry this in your check in baggage, so don't worry just pack it in in your main baggage.
