By Train
There is a night journey train that leaves from Chennai (the closest metro to Ooty). The most frequent and popular being the Nilgiri Express which goes from Chennai to Coimbatore. A famous attraction here is the "Ooty Toy Train" provided by the Nilgiri Railways that starts from Cunoor and travels all the way to Ooty.
By Bus
Ooty has great connections by bus from nearby large towns in the district (such as Cunoor and
