I just booked a ticket on Spicejet and was pleasantly surprised to see their added service. They offer direct payment for online tickets through a tie up with Billdesk. Though this was announced at the start of the year, I just recently got to use it, and it works great!

Besides being the first airline to offer this, the direct payment (which is basically debiting your bank for the cost of the ticket) is a great service for those customers that prefer not to use their credit card online. And this also helps for those credit card customers whose credit limit may not allow for the booking of 2 or more tickets.

They have tied up with a lot of banks to offer this. Go ahead and give it a try and let me know what you think.

Yeah, direct debit's are great for those people who are not comfortable using their credit cards online. I hope all the other airlines follow Spicejet's implementation and give people the freedom to choose their preferred payment type.
